Radio Mambi, located in the residential neighborhood of Sueño, in the city of Santiago de Cuba, was officially declared Voice of Carnival 2016.
Yaneydis Hechavarría Batista, vice president of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power (Government) in Santiago de Cuba and President of the Organizing Committee of the Carnival, Cultural Heritage of the Nation, said that the main celebration of July in this city will be from 21 to 27, and as traditionally happens, "Radio Mambi" will be an invaluable support for the dissemination of the celebration, also known here as the Rumbón Mayor.
Historically, for the month of July, the station "Mambi" which classifies as a municipal plant, becomes the broadcaster higher "rating" in the territory, because the population is assumed as the main link with the celebration, finding in their emissions adequate information and spaces on picturesque aspects of Carnival.
The carnival celebration in this city, is also considered the most important in the country for its colorful, popular participation, and the area covered, since it intrudes to the four cardinal points of the city.
Each year, Radio Mambi offers coverage to the three main party celebrations: Carnival Aquatic, Mayor Rumbón preamble, which takes place over two days in the water and points along the coast of the Bay of Santiago de Cuba.
Days later, "Mambi" conveys the incidents during a week, the Children's Carnival, and later the radial distribution Dream house takes the brunt of disclosure of Carnival adults.
For occasions described, the also known as "W" plant, because its name is CMKW, has a stellar space for celebration, called "Good afternoon, Santiago Carnival" from 14:30 hours to almost late afternoon. It is a varied magazine that does, also, the biggest "rating" in the Santiago radio.
Also, there are other spaces dedicated to "Rumbón Mayor" 10:00 hours to 13:00 hours and 19:00 hours another at 22:00; especially one, from 18:00 to 19:00, which functions as billboard party, with detailed information on the performances of musical groups.
Similarly, while the party takes place in the streets of the city, the population approaches the direct contact with the "master control" or "master" Mambi, to express greetings or inquire about the celebration.
A team of journalists, among them Jose Emilio Olivero Sixfingers, Evelyn Vega Lamarque, Silega Yanais Matos, Barbara Bolerí Izquierdo ... constantly informed, as they move throughout all areas of the Carnival.
All the foregoing justifies Radio Mambi has been designated by the Organising Committee for the celebrations of July in Santiago de Cuba as "Voice of Carnival".
