Receives EGREM Recognition 500th of Santiago de Cuba

For their remarkable contributions to Cuban culture, the Siboney Studies Company of Recordings and Musical Editions (EGREM), in the province of Santiago de Cuba, received the Recognition 500 Anniversary of the town of Santiago de Cuba.
Workers, musical groups and artists who have left their mark on the record company received this distinction, awarded by the Municipal Assembly of People's Power in the untamed people and institutions who have contributed their work, from various areas, the development of this eastern territory terroir.
In the City Hall, City Council Santiago, Gonzalo Gonzalez, a specialist in Public Relations from the Siboney Studies, on behalf of the honorees, highlighted the sound legacy of the late Commander Juan Almeida Bosque, founder of the record label, July 5 1980.
He stressed the commitment of his colleagues to promote the best values of national culture, what are samples recorded there, winning both inside and outside Cuba, with Latin Grammy Awards, including album A bolero for you, phonograms Eliades Ochoa, winner in 2012.
The meeting was enlivened by Vidas Vocal Quartet, winner of Cubadisco 2016 Award in the category of Vocal Music Song with production and life.
This entertainment is one of the activities to celebrate the 36th anniversary of the Siboney Studies, including Community actions, sales and record presentations, as well as concerts by ensembles of folk music in the emblematic Casa de la Trova, in the Hero city.
These celebrations also greet the 16th anniversary of the Agency are Cuba, belonging to the EGREM, the oldest record label Island.
