It was like the first September two years ago. Giselle accompanied by guitar troubadour Fernando Guerrero; and the closing with the musical duo Estocada. As tensions on that September. Not for the premiere of a rock, but for the preparations involving any birthday.
Chronicles of my city is two years now, this cultural space in the heart of Santiago de Cuba, dedicated to telling the city from its men and women. Two years. Twenty editions. And as in any self-respecting celebration: friends, the loyal audience every second Friday of the month accepted the artistic proposal that young soloist Giselle Lage and his colleagues delivered with humility also learns.
The anniversary were invited all those who during the last twelve months were protagonists of the evenings Birthplace José María Heredia. Some could not attend the call. Others came with renewed vigor, as the storyteller Georgina Soler, who awakens cheers and applause with their mere mention, and on this occasion gave a nice monologue dedicated to El Santero.
Also new were the chronicles of Jacquelin Ferraton, French friend of Santiago heart. Jacquelin narrated the adventures surrounding their singular task cronicar city from photography to please those who meet in internet nostalgia at the sight of the house, the neighborhood, the longed city.
He also reached the House Heredia Elsa Moreno, Santiago soloist in these months of rock has become a regular. Her intense voice, his passion in the song, distinguish the scenarios that arise.
But this account of my city Chronicles no shortage of premieres. For the first time we were accompanied by a magician (for that that should not miss birthdays magicians and clowns). The young wizard Alejandro spoke with refined tricks and much sympathy, and support of the host mischievous space.
Premiere was also the musical format that accompanied Giselle during the afternoon: Angel Toirac on the piano (Group Influence, JoJazz prize) and Odelkis Rueda on percussion; they allowed the hosts to show some of the repertoire that occurs every Monday at the Iris Jazz Club in this city.
Two years. Twenty-four months. And in each of them the challenge of pleasing an audience, to summarize, in a few hours, incomprehensible culture of Santiago. Chronicles of my city begins, of course, to travel on its third anniversary. The thanks of the sympathy of our audiences, is sufficient reason for the challenge.
