Cuba: International Triathlon Competition in February

triatlon cuba 2016Havana, Jan 28 (Prensa Latina) More than 350 athletes of 25 countries will take part in the 2nd International Triathlon of Havana, scheduled for the February 13th and 14th, said the Cuban commissioner of the discipline, Alejandro Puerto.
Among the nations with more participants they emphasized Mexico, the United States, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland and Venezuela, Puerto stated to Cuban digital publication Jit.

According to the official,there will also come athletes of Aruba, Czech Republic, Canada, Singapore, Slovakia, Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Austria, Peru, Panama, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Kazakhstan, Japan and Portugal.

Puerto emphasizes that Cuba will be represented by its main athletes, among them medalists who stand out in great competitions and regional championships,such as Leslie Amat and Michel González.

Then there will join Víctor Manuel Torres, Sunelis Sunset, Conrado Martínez, Jorge Ezequiel, Félix Félix, Tania Rizo, between others.

The national commissioner stated that the competition will have some changes in its organization with regard to the previous version.

In this second edition there will not be included the test of long distance "Ironman" consisting of 3,8 kilometers of swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling and 42,2 km of pedestrian career.

Puerto said that this is because of the few registered persons , they will only compete in the categories of half a distance (1,9 km - 90 km - 21 km), on Saturday, the 13th, (750 m - 20 km - 5 km) on Sunday.
