Luanda, Jul 13 (Prensa Latina) Cooperation focuses the visit Cuban Council of Ministers vice president Ricardo Cabrisas started today, diplomatic sources said.
"This visit is part of the reinforcement of the historic collaboration between the two countries which assume regular consultation," the director of America department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Angola, Francisco Jose Da Cruz, told Prensa Latina.
Some minutes after CabrisasâÖ welcome along with CubaâÖs ambassador, Gisela Garcia, and AngolaâÖs Jose Cesar Augusto, Da Cruz explained that during the stay, new programs will be explored, as part of the close bilateral ties.
He described as dynamic the relationship between the two countries that "justify this kind of contacts with determined priority, in an attempt to make significant progress in cooperation."
He reiterated that existing projects in collaboration will be analyzed and recalled that less than one year ago, President Jose Eduardo dos Santos visited Cuba, where an agreement was signed in transportation, civil construction and public works for the 2014-2017 period.
Now, we should analyze how this arrangement is implemented, "because we have financial delays in Angola by the sudden drop in oil prices in the international market," he said.
A statement from the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during his four-day visit, Cabrisas will hold a working meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georges Chicoty, and will be received on Thursday by Vice President Manuel Vicente.
He will also talk with officials of ministerial departments in sectors of Construction, Health, Finance, Transportation, Energy and Water, Education, Higher Ensigns, and National Defense.
Angola and Cuba established diplomatic relations on November 15, 1975, and one year later, they signed a General Cooperation Agreement, on the basis of which the Bilateral Commission was established.
The governments of the two countries signed in 2014 a memorandum of understanding that essentially stresses the construction by Cuba of airports in Angola in three years.
