Foreign Interest in Horses Bred in Cuba Grows

caballo cubaHavana, Feb 12 (Prensa Latina) The interest shown by experts on jumping horses bred in Cuba grows every year, seeing the opinions of participants in the 7th Elite Auction Havana 2016, where 33 animals are in the bid.

During the first day of the event (from February 11 to 13 at the Lenin Park Equestrian Center), buyers, especially from Mexico, were interested in the horses offered, while the news is provided by the training for dressage.

Although out of the auction, the Italian Fulvio Mazzoleni told Prensa Latina that he has been hired for over a year by the Company for the Wildlife Protection (Enpff, in Spanish) to train riders and horses for dressage.

The technical director of the Equestrian Center of Havana, Frank Domenech also explained that every year grows the interest in horses that are prepared on this island, mostly among Latin American experts.

Fulvio is part of the efforts of the authorities of the island enhance this branch of sports, tourism and economy. With over 50 years of experience in riding and bonding with horses, he considers excellent the Cuban animals and riders.

The horses in the auction are from the Royal Dutch race, in a meeting organized jointly by the Enpff and VDL-Stud from the Netherlands.

For the occasion, the organizers explained, 33 horses of the Royal Dutch Warmblood race are being sold, including 20 ridden horses and 13 in freedom.

The Enpff, which belongs to the Ministry of Agriculture of Cuba, in December will turn 40 years of existence, and was founded by Commander of the Revolution Guillermo García Frías. The institution develops a wide program of Wildlife Conservation, which includes 80 protected areas.
