Toronto, Jul 13 (Prensa Latina) Cuban canoeist Yusmari Mengana won the gold medal in the Pan American Games Toronto 2015, recording 2:00.656 minutes in the K1 500 meters, while Canada and Brazil won silver and bronze medals, respectively.
Mengana easily defeated Canadian canoeist Michelle Russell (2:02.381 minutes) and Brazilian Ana Paula Vergutz (2:03.329 minutes).

The first three competitors were followed by canoeists from the United States, Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico, Colombia and Puerto Rico.

Results in K1 500 meters for women:

1. Yusmari Mengana 2:00.656 minutes--- Gold medal.

2. Michelle Russell 2:02.381 minutes--- Silver medal.

3. Ana Paula Vergutz 2:03.329 minutes--- Bronze medal.
