Generate Electricity, A Top Project of Global Sugar Industry

atamHavana, Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) The technical director of the Association of Sugar Technicians of Mexico (ATAM) Manuel Enriquez Poy said today that generation of electricity from bagasse is the main project of sugar industry in the world.
Poy, also CEO of the Motzorongo group, was the first speaker at the 2nd Technical Meeting of this institution and the Association of Sugar Technicians of Cuba (ATAC), opened today with the presence of some 100 experts from both countries, who will discuss tomorrow more than twenty papers.

Poy gave a lecture on current situation and perspective of sugar industry in Mexico, from the data collected in the 2014-2015 harvest, which has just concluded.

Chief specialist of the Institute of Sugar Projects (Iproyaz) Juan Godefoy, from the sugar group Azcuba, set out an update of the sugar technology in Cuba and referred also to modern technology devices used in India and China for the manufacturing process.

President of ATAC Eduardo Lamadrid said at the opening ceremony that sugar technicians from both countries feel the need to cooperate to confront the challenges of low sugar international prices and make the sector more competitive.

The meeting is also headed by president of ATAM Ismael Gomez, as well as other ATAM and ATAC directors.
