Havana, Oct 18 (Prensa Latina) The Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) rejected the defamatory campaign against the Caribbean island with the objecive of minimizing the greatness of the Revolutin that triumphed in 1959, local media reported on Thursday. Barbara Durades, a sugarcane cutter, explained that attacks like these cannot destabilize a nation that remains united and that is focused on strengthening democracy.
Dailys Reman, a health worker, spoke out against the Washington-imposed economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba for more than 50 years.
That policy has an unfair and inhumane nature, since it makes it impossible to obtain advanced technologies for the effective treatment of diseases such as cancer, said Reman, who was quoted by Juventud Rebelde newspaper.
