Havana, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) Cuba and Japan are coordinating in Tokyo the agenda of the 15th Economic Conference between the two countries (JCEC), scheduled for December 17 in Havana. The 45th Conference will be held in 2019, with an invaluable contribution to the development of economic relations between both countries, said the Cuban Embassy on Facebook.

Cuba and Japan further boosted their cooperation on March 9, when the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) opened its permanent office in Havana to promote cooperation projects for the sustainable development of the Caribbean nation.
The official ceremony was attended by Mitsunari Okamoto, Japan's parliamentary deputy minister of Foreign Affairs; Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuban minister for Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX); Japanese Ambassador Masaru Watanabe, and senior JICA officials, among other personalities.
Malmierca noted that JICA's ties with Cuba began more than half a century ago and in recent years, they have broadened their scope with the development of initiatives in such fields as agriculture, health care and environmental protection.
