Cuba, Hungary to Strengthen Trade Ties

Havana, Oct 26 (Prensa Latina) Business delegations from Cuba and Hungary strengthened their ties on Friday during a meeting at the National Hotel in Havana, based on the examination of those relations in the most recent 15 years.

In the Vedado Hall at the National Hotel, the 5th Session of the Business Committee between the sides was held this Friday, a meeting which benefited from the presence on Cuba of a delegation from the European country.

This group will participate in the 36th International Fair of Havana (FIHAV 2018) to be held from October 29 to November 2 at Expocuba.

The Hungarian delegation was welcomed by the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, Ruben Ramos, who expressed his satisfaction with the meeting.

He pointed out that both sides are exploring the growing potentialities, especially for investment in the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM) of this country.

He recognized that there is a renewed interest in Hungarian companies to get closer to business opportunities in Cuba, and expects that the still discrete exchange will increase in the future.

Areas such as food, renewable energy, tourism, sugar, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology are on the list of interests.
