At 59 years of his death, Cuba remembers on Sunday Camilo Cienfuegos, Commander of the Rebel Army led by Fidel Castro.
Known as 'The Hero of Yaguajay' and 'The Lord of the Vanguard,' Camilo died on October 28, 1959, when the plane on which he returned to Havana fell into the water.
His remains were never found, hence the Cuban people's tradition to bring flowers to the sea.
Born on February 6, 1932 in Havana, Cienfuegos was an expedition member of the Granma yacht, and stands out as one of the fundamental pillars of the armed heroic deed that overthrew the dictator Fulgencio Batista's tyranny.
Havana, Oct 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuba''s President Miguel Diaz-Canel remembered Camilo Cienfuegos, 59 years after his death, by evoking a quote about the hero by the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro.
