International interest has been ratified to do business with the island with #Cuba despite the #Blockade, expressed Cuban president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, througjh his Twitter account in the social network Twitter after the opening of the Fair.
In this regard, the minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, pointed that over 24 thousand square meters form the exhibition area of the event, confirming the increasing interest of foreign companies to establish business with the island.

The foreign attendance here is remarkable, said Malmierca when evaluating the harshening of the U.S. blockade, as well as the extraterritorial nature of that policy. Also, he recognized the attendance of U.S. companies.
The business forum Russia-Latin America and the Caribbean, held for the first time in Cuba, is considered one of the newest aspects of Fihav 2018.
During the event, Russia advocated for diversifying and give greater dynamism to their economic relations with Latin America, through long-reaching projects that contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
The deputy Prime Minister of that Euroasian nation,
Yury Borísov, also stressed the strengthening of relations with Cuba, including the participation in millionaire investment projects in energy, transport, including an ambitious program to modernize and increase railroad activity.
On that same line, during an investment forum being held as part of Fihav, foreign investors assured they execute promising business projects with Cuba in the Special Development Zone of Mariel (ZEDM), under advantageous fiscal incentives, which facilitate access to the domestic market and exports.
Among the projects recently approved at the ZEDM, are TGT Caribe S.A., with Spanish capital and dedicated to the production of cheese and dairy products, as well as the Vietnam company ViMariel, S.A., developer of infrastructure and first concessionary in Mariel.
There is also Innovative Immunotherapy Alliance, S.A., a joint venture for the development of biotechnological products for the treatment of cáncer.
For U.S. exhibitor Douglas Plessinger, Business director of Innovative Immunotherapy Alliance, the alliance built between the Center of Molecular Immunology of Cuba and the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center of the U.S.
