Havana, Oct 31 (Prensa Latina) Some 45 Indian companies are taking part at the the current 36th International Trade Fair of Havana Fihav 2018 with the eyes set on business opportunities with their counterparts in Cuba. 'Our participation in Fihav is in tune with the Indian government's line of promoting initiatives for Latin America and the Caribbean,' said the FICCI executive.
Facilitated by the Embassy of India in Havana, the visiting businessmen held an informative meeting with specialists from the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba who explained to them the viable ways to do business in the island in a safe and beneficial way.
For Rajiv Kumar Srivastava, deputy general manager for exports of Waaree Energies Ltd., he considers his presence at the Fair very useful in order to know the benefits that his company can find in the branch of renewable energy in Cuba.
Indian ambassador Madhu Sethi believes that Fihav is an appropriate destination for the companies of her country to interact with various sectors not only of Cuba, but of the entire Caribbean and Central America.
She also believes that the Fair is a showcase for Indian entrepreneurs to show the progress of their country's industry and find lucrative businesses that the island offers.
Ambassador Sethi inaugurated the Indian Pavilion in Fihav, which is also attended by representations from 59 other countries. The event was opened on Monday by Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel.
This commercial showcase, from October 29 to November 2, is a platform for participants to meet with international importers, government officials, representatives of relevant companies and policymakers in the region.
