Santa Clara, Cuba, Feb 19 (Prensa Latina) Cuban People''s Friendship Institute delegate in Villa Clara, Iris Menendez, highlighted Tuesday the support in this Cuban province for Venezuela, amid threats of military aggression by the United States.

In statements to Prensa Latina, she said that for this reason workers, farmers, students and other citizens of the central province have signed in favor of the international campaign Hands off Venezuela.

She said that in the United States, Europe and other parts of the universe millions of progressive people are trying to prevent the imperialist adventure of a military intervention disguised as humanitarian aid.

Menendez noted that this has already happened at other times and in other countries of the world, 'so we all have to unite to prevent the war from coming to that brother people.

She pointed out that social networks show how solidarity groups with Venezuela are acting even in countries of Europe and America, where their governors support the adventure of the United States against the brother Venezuelan people.

Menendez stressed that Cuba's friend Gloria La Riva, a U.S. political activist, is currently in Caracas reporting and supporting from there the constitutional government of Venezuela which presides over by vote of the people Nicolas Maduro.

Osnel Perez, director of the Friendship House of Villa Clara, said that the Cuban people have reaffirmed their revolutionary spirit and their feelings towards Venezuelans.

He argued that we all know that this humanitarian aid is yet another hoax of the U.S. rulers, that the Cuban people have suffered in their own flesh.

He indicated that these same acts being carried out against Venezuela have been experienced against Cuba for more than sixty years, although we have always been victorious, he stressed.

Julio Lima, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its first Secretary in Villa Clara, headed the same way, cadres, officials and workers of the political organization signed in favor of peace in the region.

At Marta Abreu Central University and at the University of Medical Sciences, thousands of students from the different courses and specialties have already expressed their solidarity.
