Havana, Apr 29 (Prensa Latina) GAF''s forestry and natural fiber management specialist, Raquel Palacios, reported Monday that Cuba has an extensive program for its sector throughout the country.

This Agro Forestal Group (GAF) of the Ministry of Agriculture (Minag) takes care of this sphere and has a great responsibility not only in the productive elements, but also in environmental protection.

Palacios pointed out that the mission of her specialty is to direct, guide, coordinate and control the actions of agroforestry and henequen economic entities.

Besides, in these lines it generates its fostering, development and industrialization, as well as implementing research strategies.

Its functions include the use of forest products and natural fibers.

For these purposes they include 26 agroforestry companies for different productions in which nurseries, sawmills, and forest farms are integrated.
