Cuba´s FM Stresses Ties of Fraternity with the Caribbean

Havana, May 9 (Prensa Latina) Cuba''s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, stressed ties of fraternity with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the existing potentialities for mutual benefit through cooperation.

'I held a fraternal meeting with the Heads of Mission of the CARICOM countries accredited in Cuba. We ratify the historical ties of sisterhood that join us and the potentialities to strengthen cooperation and trade exchanges in mutually beneficial areas', Rodriguez tweteed.

On one occasion, Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra said the ties of Cuba with the Caribbean are a byword for the world, especially at a time when hostility is growing on the planet.

The links of Cuba and CARICOM are of mutual support and solidarity, of understanding our needs and interest in helping to satisfy them, without meddling and always based on respect, he said.

According to Cuban authorities in 2018, 24 visits by Ministers from 12 Caribbean countries were welcomed in Havana.

Besides, the Caribbean has counts on the collaboration of 1,773 Cubans, of them, 1,454 from the health sector. Currently, 1,094 young Caribbean students are studying in Cuba and so far 6,623 professionals graduated from the geographical area. Besides,all the Member States of CARICOM have diplomatic missions in Havana.
