HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 19 (ACN) President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez attended the Havana 500th anniversary gala, which took place on the esplanade of the Capitol. Also present were José Ramón Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the PCC; Esteban Lazo Hernández, President of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State; as well as Salvador Valdés Mesa, Vice-President of the Republic and Ramiro Valdés, Vice-President of the Council of State.The evening, attended by nearly five thousand guests, featured nationally and internationally renowned artists such as Vania Borges, Leo Vera, Liuba María Hevia, Beatriz Márquez and Laritza Bacallao, among others.
The gala concluded with a fireworks show that accompanied a musical work by pianist and composer Frank Fernandez, as a special gift to the city that this Saturday celebrated its half millennium.
