Brasilia, Aug 17 (Prensa Latina) The Cultural Center of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies welcomes today an exhibition by important Cuban artists from different generations, who deal with dissimilar trends of the islandâÖs artistic panorama.
The exhibition, denominated "Perspectives," features 32 works by 14 artists and it is the result of the collaboration of ARTIS 718 Gallery, of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets, with the Viva Arte Viva Project, of cultural exchange between the two countries.
We seek with this exhibition a greater approach to the art of the Caribbean nation and we make known the Brazilians the different visions of nature, landscape, problems and peculiarities of that Caribbean island, a spokesman from the Cultural Center said.
Works by Manuel Lopez Oliva, Flora Fong, Moises Finale, and Luis E. Camejo, icons of Cuban art, and young artists such as Eduardo Ruben Garcia, Jose Omar Torres, Rigoberto Mena, Harold Lopez, Andy Rivero, Lisandra Garcia, David Velazquez, Niels Reyes, Gabriel Sanchez Toledo, Luis Antonio Espinoza, and The Merger, conform the exhibition.
The coordinator of Viva Arte Viva (VAV) Project, Romildo Gastao Da Silva, stated that it seeks to provide a compressed view of the diversity of aesthetic perceptions, languages and generations that coincide today in the situation in the island.
As part of this exchange, about seven Brazilian artists displayed their works during an exhibition held 12th Havana Biennial, held in May.
