Havana, Sep 7 (Prensa Latina) With a message of peace, unity and dialogue, a meeting among representatives from world's religions present in Cuba concluded in this capital, media stress today.
Monsignor Giorgio Lingua, Apostolic Nuncio in Cuba, read a message from Pope Francis, referring to this International Meeting for Peace.

The fruitful and peaceful coexistence among people and communities belonging to different religions is possible and achievable.

Peaceful coexistence among different religious communities is an invaluable asset for peace and the harmonious development of a people, it is a value we have to safeguard and grow every day, the text said.

Education in the respect for differences and specific identities will promote dialogue and communication for the good of all, it added.

In honor of those ideas and the need for peace, in a world where violence and armed conflicts make headlines, the theme of the next World Peace Day would be "Overcome Indifference and Conquer Peace," the message stated, released in Granma newspaper.

The International Prayer hosted the City of Tirana, in Albania, in 2015, and was entitled "Peace is always possible."

During the ceremony held at the Plaza of San Francisco de Asis in Havana, the Cuban capital's Historian, Eusebio Leal, stressed the importance of this event, in moments in which tens of thousands of refugees fleeing to Europe, enter through borders, "at a time when the world is moved by those who die, suffer and cry."

Leal called to pray for peace, and greet and thank those who struggle and are devoted to it. He alluded to how it is possible -creating the required conditions- to live in an atmosphere of peace, understanding and respect.

The signing of the Appeal for Peace, a document that Cuban religious representatives delivered to members of the diplomatic staff attending the meeting, was also carried out.
