Panamanian President to Meet Raul Castro

Havana, Sep 10 (Prensa Latina) Panama's President, Juan Carlos Varela, will hold today a meeting with Cuban President, Raul Castro, in the context of his official visit to the island, which aims to strengthen bilateral relations.
As part of his agenda, the head of Panamanian State, who arrived in this capital yesterday, will also visit today the "Solidaridad con Panama" school, an educational center for children with motor problems, which opened in early 80s of last century.
Other activities by Varela, who came accompanied by a delegation of a dozen businessmen, as well as Minister of Trade and Industry, Melitón Arrocha, includes a tour of the Mariel Special Development Zone, west of Havana.
Meanwhile, the dignitary will visit tomorrow the Latin American School of Medicine, where he will meet with Panamanian students being trained as doctors here; while he will meet on Saturday with Cuban Parliament President, Esteban Lazo.
According to statements by the president, in this visit, to be run until Saturday, Sept. 12, issues related to health, culture and sports will be discussed, as well as pursues to boost trade and strengthen relations between the two countries.
In this regard, the head of Panamanian State, said that exchanges with the Colon Free Zone and the Caribbean nation will be analyzed.
