vicecanciller abelardo morenoHavana, Sep 11 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister, Abelardo Moreno, said there is an almost an endless list of issues that allow to enhance, expand and deepen cooperation between the Caribbean island and the European Union (EU).
He announced that both sides will hold the sixth round of negotiations in Brussels in the second two weeks in November.

The fifth bilateral meeting for the conclusion of an agreement on political dialogue and cooperation, an exercise started in April 2014, concluded yesterday.

We have gradually advanced in some of the key issues of this proposed agreement, which consists of three parts, one for cooperation, a second for trade, and another on political dialogue, he said.

This time -in which the two sides worked respectful and professionally- we practically conclude the trade-related item.

We advanced much in the item linked to cooperation, just what details are left, he stated.

We started a detailed analysis of the political dialogue and identify key issues that will be objects of that item, such as the fight against discrimination, human rights and trafficking in small and light weapons, among others.

On the other hand, Christian Leffler, Managing Director for the Americas at the European External Action Service, stated that there is a commitment and atmosphere to negotiate with Cuba.

We advance well and although the common European position dates from 18 years ago, CubaâÖs current scene is different, and we want to further advance in cooperation, going beyond with the Caribbean island, Leffer stressed.
