The Image Museum located in the Vista Alegre district of Santiago de Cuba, is the only one ofits kind in the country.
''Bernabé Muñiz Guibernau, who gives name to the museum, always had the idea to preserve the historical memory for future generations.
First, was called fool because he had his house with all these teams and often sold their belongings to buy cameras; showing that was passionate about the applied arts "man tells Yamilia Sanchez Vargas, Specialist of the place.
The museum, exhibits very well-preserved audiovisual devices that were used during the underground struggle, it was officially opened on March 21, 1992 and has several permanent exhibition, addressing the history of photography, film, radio and television in Cuba.
The photography room has a collection of Kodak cameras, from the first made by the French until today. While the theater has video cameras that filmed events as the fall of Machado, the October Crisis, combat at Playa Girón, among others.
The radio room is 83 prototypes, projecting equipment telephone, telegraph and a collection of carbon microphones. Among the most important exponents of the TV room are those belonging to the collection of cameras beginning of the small screen in Havana and Santiago de Cuba.
The property also has other spaces, including a protocol room, a film vault, a cinema and video for up to 56 people, and a space for war correspondents.

Last 2015 the museum had many spectators which were motivated by the story awake. It aims to increase this year visitors and improve the quality of the exhibition.

Speaking of a man:
Muñiz Guibernau as we all know was born in Havana on June 18, 1925. Since 1940 he began working as a miscellaneous in the News Royal News and remained as a permanent employee in 1941. He then moved to Noticiero display as head of distribution and be accomplished while cameraman in 1943, after the North part Noticiero.
Bebo, as everyone knew, from 1951 carried out works in national and international feature films. In 1956 he moved with his family to Colombia where he founded the Panamerican Films News, which was directed against the dictatorship of Rojas Pinilla.
The triumph of the Cuban Revolution in January 1959, he returned to Cuba and filmed the journey of Fidel Castro and the rebels from Santiago de Cuba to Havana. From that moment he was definitely in the country, moving to the city of Santiago de Cuba, to mount Eastern Labs News.
In 1961 he goes directly to become head of the ICAIC cameramen in the province and continues to cover the National Television News. In 1975 the disappearance of the Noticiero ICAIC delegation in the province of Santiago de Cuba, he moved to film TV studios, where he served as director of photography.
Unfortunately he died on November 26, 2000.
