How Fernando starts in the professional world of the arts?
Since childhood he preferred to express through drawings, which amused me more than anything else, even though he was hyperactive. My aunt was the one who noticed the possibility or manual skills I had and went to a lady who was a teacher in a school of arts for the same or channeled improve my technique.
Then I pass the entrance to levels in seventh and tenth grades, and fourth year I graduated as Professor of painting, engraving and drawing, especially in the school of arts Jose Joaquin Tejada. I started working and never stopped intergradations in arts in classrooms or other venues that will drive my creation and I've been 25 years as a professional.

What is the technique that mostly employ in your creations?
In the school of arts teach all the techniques and, of course, the ideal is to master them all though only one artist stands out. I in particular I incline to the drawing, is that the technique that I use most often and by which treatment inherent in Cuban society issues such as trucks full, the tumult of the queues for the buses and other facets of the everydayness of Santiago in general.

What motivated you to participate in the XVI National Salon of Religious Art?
There were thinking this work (Ecce Homo) not that the Hall but to cover my own interests or concerns after religious themes. Then his birth coincided with the session of this event and had the opportunity to present in it.
Why Ecce Homo?
Ecce Homo, or "Here is the Man" in its translation into Castilian, is the words spoken by Pontius Pilate for Jesus before the crowd.
With my work I try to reflect, then, the man, the Jesus that exists within each of us regardless of personal biases or beliefs. I try to emphasize the man indicated that amidst the evil nature there is always something good, something positive. All these elements also point to the possibility of complete repentance, redemption.

Why did you choose to work with mosaics to create Ecce Homo?

It's a technique I'm working and I like to call puzzle. It has different methodologies and forms that enable me to achieve abstract or figurative works like this. In this case I understood that my intentions adequate support for these tiles would be wood, which gave a base color first and then draw on them. I used ocher old and sobriety that contributed to the work according to their objectivity and conceptual sense.
The difficult or attractive part is that each one of the pieces has to be nested, so they can arm and disarm as many times as you like. You can also be photographed or look from multiple angles and positions which causes different readings, as people handle also observed.
This technique, which I call "infinismo" currently just me who work in Cuba, and allows me to express parts infinity character or infinista of life, everything within it, and in this case religion , faith in Christ and in nature.

Is it like a challenge for those who see the play?
In fact. People who interact with Ecce Homo should discover the face of Christ, or the image of the Virgin and Child, either. This didactic element allows the public to create their own work and get rid of my intentions. It gives the viewer the chance to talk with the artwork.

What is the underlying personal message Ecce Homo for the people of Cuba and especially from Santiago de Cuba?

Simple: Faith should never miss. There are times when it may be all black, and when all black looks feels as if the fund is touched, but just at that moment when one should think positive, with a steady faith, and dedicate energies to helping others it is worse. That's the idea that I drive, bad things will never be the last to be present, always something good will come of the human being and so doors will open.
