A comprehensive program of artistic work of the territory, and full use of dozens of facilities created or restored on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the former villa, preserves the Day of Cuban Culture, from the current 10 to 20 month in this province.
The central Céspedes Park will start the celebration with a show by the local artistic talent, which summarizes the development of culture in the half millennium of the city, but first pay tribute to the Father of the Homeland, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes on the bust that remember him on this site.
Coincident in time is the Gala Awards Contest Cinema, Radio and Television Felix B. Caignet, which, sponsored by the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), has received more than 90 works and will be dedicated to the unforgettable Actor Raul Pomares.
The same day 10, the popular duo Buena Fe will perform in the municipality of Segundo Frente, and then will also have presentations in Palma Soriano, La Maya, San Luis, and the Mariana Grajales amphitheater in Santiago de Cuba on the evening of 15 in concert to which they are Figures contest invited Oye mi canto interpretation.

Other tributes will be awarded to the actress Adela Legrá cycle in Cuban cinema, the actress Fatima Patterson, the poet Teresa Melo, Madrigal Choir, Plaza Major General Antonio Maceo Revolution in its 24th anniversary, the Ballet Santiago occasion of its 25th anniversary, and the theater Martí for their 110 years.
For the 20, Day of the Cuban Culture, are provided the singing of the national anthem in all activities of the territory, a tribute to its creator Perucho Figueredo at his tomb, the reopening of the restored Bacardi Museum, and a concert of chamber music at the Decorative Arts Room.
