Quito, Nov 9 (Prensa Latina) The governments of Ecuador and Hungary strengthened relations with the recent official visit to the European country by Deputy Foreign Minister Andres Teran, the Foreign Ministry confirmed on Friday. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility, the importance of the beginning of negotiations on the Agreement to Prevent Double Taxation was highlighted during the meeting.
The two officials also discussed issues related to the increase in scholarships in Hungary to benefit Ecuadoran students through the Stipendium Hungaricum Program.
Hungarian cooperation in the water management project at municipal level was also the subject of dialogue.
Teran thanked Hungarian authorities for their support at the European Union for the exemption of the Schengen visa in Ecuadoran passports.
Foreign Minister Szijarto reiterated an invitation so that his Ecuadoran peer, Jose Valencia, pay an official visit to Hungary in 2019.
