Havana, Nov 30 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel congratulated the workers, students and teaching staff of the Marta Abreu Central University in Las Villas (UCVL) on its 66th anniversary.

In a message posted on his Twitter account, the president recalled that in that center he completed his higher education, and appreciated the contribution he received for his revolutionary and professional training.

Congratulations (...) to the teachers, workers and students of #UCLV on its anniversary. Our university, magnificent and endearing. To it, to my dear professors, I owe an important part of my revolutionary and professional formation', the head of the Councils of State and of Ministers twitted.

The UCVL, founded on November 30, 1952, is the most important higher education center in central Cuba.

The university has an enrollement of 15,394 students and a staff of 1,719 professors in 12 faculties, where 52 courses are taken, including humanistic, technical and natural sciences.

It also offers 29 PhD programs, 44 Master's degrees and four specialties.
