Rector of University of Belgrade Receives Cuban Ambassador

ivankaBelgrade, Nov 30 (Prensa Latina) Dr. Ivanka Popovic, the rector of the University of Belgrade, received Cuban Ambassador to Serbia Gustavo Trista del Todo, to whom he expressed her interest in boosting cooperation between the two countries in the sphere.

During the talks at the venue of University, Popovic, who is also an active professor, referred to possible areas of collaboration to teach Medicine, Hispanics and other specialties, and suggested the signing of a mutually beneficial agreement.

Popovic made a full and detailed explanation of the work in the University of Belgrade, which covers the whole higher education aspects in the capital of Serbia.

The Cuban ambassador emphasized the excellent state of bilateral relations, which offer a favorable framework for collaboration in the field of higher education, and noted the broad development of university education in Cuba, based on the political will of authorities, as a result of which thousands of students have graduated.

The University of Belgrade is the most prestigious and oldest state higher education institution in Serbia.

It has 31 faculties, 11 institutes of scientific research and a library.

Dr. Popovic began her term on October 1, and she is the second woman to hold that position in the history of the institution.
