HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 30 (ACN) American Airlines Inc. awarded Varadero International Airport with the Customer Service Cup, the most important award for efficient and quality performance in the company's operations.

The Department of Communication and International Relations of the Cuban Aviation Corporation (CACSA) reported that similar recognition will be given to Havana's José Martí airport.

These are the second and third cups that the U.S. airline has awarded to Cuban airports so far this year.

It was precisely in 2018 that for the first time the award was given to a Cuban facility, and the deserving one was the Ignacio Agramonte International Airport in Camagüey.

The award is a recognition to the quality and management of its infrastructure, as well as for customer service, punctuality and baggage handling, key elements for passenger satisfaction, explains the dispatch.

The results achieved by Cuban airports acquire greater relevance, bearing in mind that there is strong competition, mainly between facilities within the Caribbean area, says the statement.
