Central American Left-Wing Parties Meet in Managua

Managua, Feb 19 (Prensa Latina) The Central American Meeting of Left-wing Parties will gather since this Tuesday representatives of these political groups from a dozen countries in Managua.

The current situation in Nicaragua and Venezuela is one of the main issues to be addressed by the forum, convened by the Secretariat of International Relations of the Sandinista National Liberation Front, La Primerisima radio station reported.

Other issues to analyze will be the recent electoral defeat of the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front in El Salvador, and the upcoming elections in Panama and Guatemala.

The meeting of these progressive forces will conclude on Thursday, February 21, with a tribute to Nicaraguan National Hero, General Augusto Cesar Sandino, on occasion of the 85th anniversary of his murder.

This will be the propitious opportunity to announce the proclamation of the event about the historical moment the peoples of Nicaragua and Venezuela are living.

Delegations from Mexico, Venezuela, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Cuba, Guatemala and Nicaragya confirmed their attendance to the meeting.
