0MURILLOHavana, Feb 25 (Prensa Latina) The new Cuban Constitution is in line with Cuba´s updating of the economic model and future projections in the sector, said Sunday the Head of the Permanent Commission for Implementation and Development, Marino Murillo.

Shortly after voting in the referendum that defines the ratification or not of the Magna Carta approved in December by the National Assembly of Popular Power, the official said that the letter 'resembles the current situation of society and the economy '.

It also generates many possibilities for projections of the future, by providing legal options to advance the update and be in tune with the documents approved by the Communist Party, he told national TV.

According to Murillo, it was necessary to change the Constitution in economic modifications scenario, with which Cuba paves the way towards the goal of building a prosperous and sustainable socialism.

Murillo also recognized the Magna Carta, on which more than 8,600,000 Cubans are called to pronounce on different forms of property.

Although the new constitution allow different types of properties, it ratifies that the main one is still the social one of all the people, expressed in the business system and the budgeted structures that fulfill government functions, he stressed.

The Constitution called to replace the one in force since 1976 also reflects that the State fosters and provides guarantees for foreign investment.

In this regard, Murillo said that this is not a complement and an important factor for the development of Cuba, because it is not possible without external sources that generate productive capacity.
