More than 600 works will be presented at the celebration of Latin American film

During this 41th edition, a total of 300 films from 37 countries will be screened, with a strong presence from Latin America, with 210 works. Argentina and Brazil stand out as the most represented nations in the region. Twenty-one fiction feature-length films, 19 short and medium-length films, 18 debuts, 21 feature-length documentaries plus 10 short and medium-length, 23 animated films, 25 unpublished scripts, and 30 posters are competing in the event, Iván Giroud, director general of the Festival, told the press.

Some 660 film screenings will take over 10 days, including works in competition, special presentations, restored classics, television shows, galas, and others. The inauguration is scheduled for 6:00pm, on the 5th, at Karl Marx Theater, with the screening of the Argentine fiction feature-length film La odisea de los giles, by director Sebastián Borensztein.
