Syrian Information Minister Denies Links with Saudi Arabia

omranDamascus, Aug 13 (Prensa Latina) Syrian Minister of Information, Omran al-Zoabi, today denied rumors about an alleged visit of the National Security Chief, Gen. Ali Mamlouk, to Saudi Arabia.
In an interview with Syrian state-run television, Al-Zoabi that they discussed a lot about the alleged visit that was never carried out, and "analysis" and articles were made in the media, based on a false news.

Al-Zoabi also made reference to the recent statements made by Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister, Adel Al-Jubeir, about the situation in Syria, which he called a repetition of the already known Saudi positions, aimed at creating the idea that the Wahabi kingdom is an influential country.

The Information minister insisted that Riad is in a political deficit state that threatens its own existence due to the accumulation of political mistakes in relation to Syriam Yemen, and Iraq.

The Syrian official said that his country's conflict is multilateral, and questioned that the existence of a real solution as long as Saudi Arabia continues sending arms and money to terrorist groups, Turkey persists in allowing mercenaries to infiltrate through its borders, and Jordan continues training armed extremists.

With regard to Iran's initiative to solve the crisis, al-Zoabi said that Tehran's proposals have no specific characteristics, but noted that Iranians back Syria and a solution to the conflict started in 2011.
