Latin America, Vietnam to Get Closer through Film Festival in Hanoi

Hanoi, Nov 11 (Prensa Latina) The third annual Latin American Film Festival in Vietnam, which will open here Wednesday, will allow further deepen the friendly relations of the region and this country, diplomatic sources said.
With the presentation of nine works at the Cinematheque theater, we want to convey the Latin American message of unity to the Vietnamese people, the possibility to meet and know each other, said at a press conference the ambassador of Venezuela, Jose Rondon Uzcategui.
Meanwhile, his peer from Cuba, Herminio Lopez, said that this meeting through the cinema is part of the actions undertaken by the Latin American nations to get closer to Vietnam.
This cultural event will undoubtedly be attractive for the Vietnamese public, which we consider to be the main receiver, particularly for youth, which will have the mission in the future to develop and deepen these ties, he added.
In that context, he also urged to "increase efforts to present even more the image of current Vietnam in our countries" and the two diplomats agreed in the possibility of joint productions between countries of the region and Vietnam.
For the occasion, two productions will be shown daily from 18:00 local time from November 11 to 13 and on Saturday 14 three will be screened, while the offer is varied and well made with a number of issues including passion, history, children's stories and confrontations to life, among others.
The day will begin with the Peruvian film Sigo siendo (Kachkaniraqmi) and the Colombian Del Amor y otros Demonios (Of Love and Other Demons). Meanwhile, on Thursday and Friday, Viaje al País que ya no Existe (Journey to the Country that no Longer Exists), from Cuba, Paraiso (Paradise), from Mexico, La Buena Vida (The Good Life), from Chile and El Viento y el Agua (Wind and water), of Panama are announced.
Finally, on Saturday the audience will enjoy Metegol (Argentina), El Libertador (the Liberator), from Venezuela and Whisky, of Uruguay.
