joseph stiglitzAthens,Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) The third financial rescue to Greece is incoherent because it disregards a reduction of the debt and is uncapable of reverting growth of the economy, affirmed today Economy Nobel Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz.
In an interview with the Greeki news agency AMNA, the U.S. economist considered the new aid by international creditors to the Hellenic nation "is not a way to welfare but an ultimátum: or you accept it or exit the Eurozone."

He pointed to the element of not including in the rescue package a reevaluation of the Greek debt, something required by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) when predicting a setback of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and being an action that does not oppose the legal framework of the European Union.

Stiglitz assured the entrance of Athens to the Eurozone was a failure and criticized the bloc did not reach its goals, as in his opinion there was lesser growth, less welfare and recession since the creation of the single currency.

During his interview the economist pondered the need that Greece puts into practice structural changes, although he expressed skepticism on those included in the agreement with its European partners, for not being the most important and be badly planned.

He insisted that measures are needed to modernize the Greek economy, to weaken the oligarchy and face corruption.
