Hon. Mr. Gustavo Bell Lemus, Ambassador of Colombia to Cuba, attended in this southeastern Cuban city , the signing of a cooperation agreement between historical archives , the communication section of the Santiago Provincial Archives reported.
The inter-institutional cooperation includes Luis Nieto Arteta Corporation, the Provincial Historic Archive of Santiago de Cuba, and the National Archives.
In addition to the Hon. Ambassador Bell Lemus participated in the signing Dr. Cielo Tamara, executive director of the Archive of Atlántico Department in Colombia and Dr. Deyana Acosta Mandiedo, Secretary of Culture of the Atlantic Department.
The main objective of the agreement is to join forces to further strengthen programs aimed at conservation, digitization research, dissemination of the documentary collections and organize joint cultural academic activities.
For the occasion was inaugurated a photographic exhibition on 500 years of history of the local Santiago de Cuba town that will held next July 25 the half millennium of the foundation of the town that led to this city.
