For the 85 years of Omara Portuondo and 70 of Eliades Ochoa the Company Recordings and Musical Editions (EGREM) paid tribute to these two emblematic figures of Cuban popular music.
The entertainment took place in the Ranchón Los Compadres, in the Park San Juan, Santiago de Cuba, and there came José Ramón Balaguer Cabrera, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and Lázaro Expósito Canto and Reinaldo Garcia Zapata, members of the Party Central Committee and first secretary of the Party and president of the Provincial Assembly of people's Power, respectively, who congratulated the two famous singers and handed them bouquets.
Omara turned 85 last October 29 and Eliades will arrive at 70 on June 22nd.
Both artists signed the seats occupied during this celebration and to start a tradition, organizers said EGREM Siboney and recording studios.
Portuondo and Eliades participate in the filming of an audiovisual in several locations in the city, to farewell Buena Vista Social Club, and will have performances in the Pepe Sanchez Casa de la Trova.
The musician Ranchón was inaugurated by Eliades and has since become in one of the favorite artists of the town and visitors to the city, and a public that has highlighted the cuisine of excellence spaces and cozy room.
