Enramadas is the most populous street in the city of Santiago de Cuba and if you doubt just stop at any time of day to appreciate the coming and going of people in an intense commercial and gastronomic life.
It was baptized with this name d when the mid XVIII century the religious population of the town began the processions through the central route, heading to the cathedral, and neighbor's built booths of guano and other plants to decorate and also mitigate the hot sun.
Every corner that looks around Enramadas holds a lot of history as,for example, the intersection with Carniceria, which was a public pillory to punish rebellious slaves during the colonial system of the time.
Over the centuries it became the main road of the city, since from the Plaza de Marte to St. Thomas abounded service units.
