The professional group Steel Band el Cobre opens its headquarters near 30 years of artistic life. This new scenario is used for the development of joint projects with patio artists, presentations and space for local recreation.
El Cobre, (Santiago de Cuba), May 19, It was born in a blessed town and receives the baptism of the monument to the cimarron. The Steel Band has a new headquarters for the artistic creation and reveres the work of its creator, the outstanding researcher and founder of the Casa del Caribe, Joel James Figarola.
The dream is reality thanks to the collaboration of the government of Santiago de Cuba. The stage will facilitate the development of joint projects with artists from the Provincial Music Center who cultivate genres such as trova or traditional folk music.
Many curious people come to the venue when they feel the rhythmic style of the Steel Band. The musicians profiled the notes of the song Yolanda, popularized by the Cuban singer-songwriter Pablo Milanés.
Hermes Ramírez Silva, director of the group, told TVSantiago.cu that this will be a new space for the enjoyment of young people and the people. We have the desire to create a similar grouping with the children of the community to create the basis in a new generation.
Every Tuesday the Steel Band offers presentations to local and international audiences.
