The agro-industrial enterprise América Libre from Santiago de Cuba, has increased the fruit processing labor so far in the year due to the increase of planting fields.

Several steps such as the development of citrus and exotic fruits mark the productive rate of this entity located in Contramestre municipality. The products of this enterprise are commercialized all over the province and the country though.

The lands from this area grant a special sweetness to the harvest, therefore a great fruit production is located there that supplies the industry whose pulps, juices and jellies are among the most prestigious of their kind in the country.

The planting fields were increased up to a thousand hectares for various fruits and over 3200 hectares for citrus fruits in order to warrant a constant flux of raw materials from the fields to the processing plant.

All the farming is done with the polycrop technique to achieve more efficiency and variety of products. Due to this fact the factory do not stop processing the fruit coming from Santiago planting fields and it has served as a main factor to break the enterprise last year own production record.
