Santiago de Cuba province got the first position on the suburban, urban and family agriculture program, thanks to the integral development of the sub-programs that composed it and the achievement of the scheduled tasks.
José Ramón Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Cuban Communist Party Committee, chaired the national meeting of this movement. In the meeting it was informed that in the three supervision visits of the National Committee the province gathered 90,11 points. The second position was for Havana (88 points) and the third for Sancti Spíritus (87,88).
The three best municipalities of the country were also from Santiago de Cuba: Segundo Frente (95,5), Contramaestre (92,5) and Palma Soriano (91,6).
The National Committee of Sub-Urban, Urban and Family Agriculture, lead by Elizabeth Peña, member of the Cuban Council of State, acknowledged the best individual producers per each province: Miguel Espinosa Correa, from Pinar del Río; Alexander Quesada Horta (Artemisa); Yoel Hernández Gallardo (Mayabeque); Alexander Alfonso Silva (La Habana); Andrés López Matos (Matanzas); Iván Díaz Gómez (Cienfuegos), y Margieny López Montelier, from Villa Clara.
