Busy Baconao Aquarium in the Santiaguero Summer

1156494714The aquarium Baconao, Santiago de Cuba, is very busy in the summer because it increased its package of proposals for the better understanding of the wonders of the sea and the environment, together with the recreation of vacationers.
The facility is visited by national and foreign hikers and receives daily hundreds of people, mostly children, who are most enjoyed the place.

Belonging to the National Enterprise for the Protection of Flora and Fauna, the aquarium of Santiago de Cuba prepared original choices for the summer stage that now distinguishes the dolphin show with stunts, juggling and elegance accompanied bath vacationers with those aquatic mammals.
Advised by the Eastern Center of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (BIOECO) workers at the site in addition to promote awareness of the fauna of the Caribbean Sea, its protection and care.
Claudio Carracedo, director of BIOECO, said the facility where it is exchanged and educate on the environment at this stage shows an exhibition with replicas of famous ships, history of the voyages of discovery of Christopher Columbus and a living underwater archeology and other marine biology.
Baconao Park extends over 80 hectares, declared World Reserve of the Biosphere by UNESCO, and is located nearly 20 kilometers from the city of Santiago de Cuba.
Among its most interesting places are the Gran Piedra, the Valley of Prehistory, Siboney Farm, Land Transportation Museum and Laguna Baconao, reproduction of a villa of the tribe of the Tainos with a seafood restaurant.
