No quiero llanto. (I do not want tears)Tribute to Los Compadres is the title of the latest album of the Septeto Santiaguero already circulating in our country through the promotion of the Company of Recordings and Musical Editions (EGREM).
The phonogram, in addition to being a tribute to Los Compadres, anthological Cuban group, is the union of prominent voices of tropical music as Oscar D'Leon, Andy Montañez and Essence group among the foreigners with national and Tiburón Morales, Eliades Ochoa and Santiaguera Conga of Los Hoyos.
Fernando Dewar, director of the award-winning group, said that although it is an achievement was complicated the process of bringing together several of those involved primarily by work commitments, "although it was remarkably successful to have the self of each so quick and enthusiastic."
"We already have been working about four or five years ago the subject of collaborations with foreign artists and the fundamental merit of them is that they have allowed us to see the respect they have those musicians invited by the art of our nation, of which they have drunk and have defended somehow, and though they call salsa know well that the root is the son, born here in this region, "the outstanding guitarist in front of the Septet.
In that sense, Dewar added that, perhaps, was that the main reason to accept invitations to collaborate with the group: respect for Cuban music.
I do not want tears. Tribute to Los Compadres is the eighth album of the Septeto Santiaguero, and among the many awards and recognitions is the 2015 Cubadisco Award in the category of traditional Son, and a pre-Latin Grammy nomination this year.
Likewise, criticism has offered glowing reviews, as recently published in the American newspaper The New York Times critic Ben Ratliff where assured that the disc is a "revitalization of traditional music, with relentless technical perfection".
