buque escuela simon bolivar santiago de cubaThis Friday, the Simon Bolivar training ship from the Venezuelan Navy dock for the second year in Santiago de Cuba's port, in an effort to strengthen relations between the homeland of Bolívar and Martí.
On arrival at the bay, the boat fire 21 blank bullets in "Salute to the Nation," which was corresponded by an artillery battery of the Revolutionary Armed Forces placed at the San Pedro de la Roca Castle Heritage Humanity.
The ship was officially received at nine o'clock in the port Guillermón Moncada and his crew laid a floral wreath at the National Hero José Martí at the Santa Ifigenia cemetery at 10:00 am.
Similarly, his busy schedule includes meetings with leading officials of the province and visits to places of historical and cultural interest of the territory.
The training ship will remain in the city until September 9 and can be visited by the population on Saturday 5 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Sunday, between the hours of 9:00 am till 5:00 pm .
This Simon Bolivar ship was built in Bilbao, Spain, and sea launched on 21 November 1979. There are in Latin America, only four ships of this type located in Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.
