Santiago de Cuba.-The increasing loans and subsidies to the population and the expansion of other services with the agility and quality required, distinguished the Banco Popular de Ahorro (BPA) in this province, with the new banking policy in the country.
According to the director of the organization in the territory, Ana Lidia Montoya Cabado, that excel in managing the delivery of 84.200 Loans to individuals amounting to 423 million pesos, of which 68.000 credits with more than 300 million pesos benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Among the remaining 8 million pesos granted are recorded using 200 credits for other tasks voluntary rehabilitation or construction of housing, cooking modules and activities of self-employment and non-agricultural cooperatives.
In consideration of the directive, with the number of actions that take place in the province, this figure is low due to lack of knowledge, preparation and habits on the operations and advantages of the investment bank for opening business.
Most benefiting from such facilities are for the artistic work (eg craftsmen), predominantly self-employees that have been financed and secured to the first start in this field.
About subsidies, Cabado Montoya said that using the funds provided by the councils of the municipal administration, have been delivered around 10.000 worth 160 million pesos, to people lacking the necessary solvency to face the rehabilitation of their homes including payments materials, transportation, and labor procedures.
