For a Neater and Healthier City

stgocubaOne of the halls of the Heredia Cultural Complex of the city, was the site chosen to celebrate the graduation of the second contingent of middle-level technicians in Monitoring and Control, belonging to the Students Federation (FEEM) of the academic year 2014-2015.

These students of the Faculty of Health Technologies "Dr. Juan Manuel Paez Inchausti "University of Medical Sciences, this graduation devoted to 500th anniversary of the founding of the town of Santiago de Cuba and 62 of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks.

Nadina Naughty Ramos DrC, dean of this faculty, as part of the central words of the graduation ceremony, said that this city of so much history and traditions dresses and exhibits monumental works both cultural and recreational, demanding the preservation of their beauty with increasing hygiene care.

"In order to transform the modes of action of those who lived in this city you need a systematic educational activity and control. It is for this specialty media technicians monitoring and vector control, ensure the identification and control of environmental risks in communities, stratification of these risks, promoting health in the different actions they take and enforce sanitary ordinances before situations that encourage the spread of vector-borne diseases, "he argued.

This was the end of a training period of two years in which average 177 technicians who make this promotion were prepared intensively in different health areas of the province; where by doing community work and acquired the tools and skills necessary to serve as future environmental health promoters.

In the graduation ceremony they were recognized outstanding students as well as whole; in teaching: Mayelin Dupéré Perez; on Research: Katerine Norma Rosales; Culture: Maria Julia Infante Lopez; and Andrea Guilart Magalis on sport; in addition to the most comprehensive student was Yéssica Casacó Gainza, who read the oath of graduates.

This contingent of middle technicians Surveillance and Control, prestige to health services with their unconditional devotion to work in the communities to keep the city clean, embellished and healthy.

Present at the ceremony Dr. Mirta Rodríguez Chirino, General Deputy Director of the Provincial Health Directorate.; Kenya Dr. Mercedes Guerra, rector professor at the University of Medical Sciences.; Dr. Julio Cesar Popa director of the Provincial Center of Hygiene Epidemiology and Microbiology, and Lic. Alfredo Cintra, head of vector eradication program, including administrators, teachers and family.
