The Raw Materials Company, in Santiago de Cuba, ended the semester with good results but failed to observe the recycling of aluminum and steel, key products in the plans of the entity.
Total sales were met by 122% although sales in CUC only 81% due to lower prices of non-ferrous products.
But others such as copper, lead, paper and cardboard, plastics, textiles and glass containers previously planned amounts were recycled.
"There are situations that prevent plans being made in the beginning of the year are breached, there are companies with metal equipment reported lower, but delay in implementation. We are also struggling with heavy load equipment, "said Leonardo Piña, acting director.
Recycling of solid waste is legislated by Law 1288/75 where it concerns the taxation of state sector Commodities Company.
This company, created by Che is an strut in the Cuban economy. It is the Cuban state agency responsible for the recovery, processing and marketing of recyclable materials and waste generated in industry, services and the community.
