HAVANA, Cuba, Nov. 16 (ACN) Spanish monarchs Felipe VI and Letizia arrived today at the Antonio Maceo Grajales International Airport in Santiago de Cuba as part of their first official visit to Cuba, which began on November 11.
The staff of Julio Antonio Mella sugar mill (former Miranda sugar mill) is involved in maintenance and repairing works of some areas of the facility that will work in the upcoming harvest.
The Caribbean Final of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) opens on Thursday at the Universidad de Oriente, with the participation of 27 teams from 11 Cuban higher education institutions.
The university center of the municipality of Tercer Frente was inaugurated in a ceremony lead by the acting director of higher education Ph.D. Marta Mesa Valenciana. The facility, a campus of Universidad de Oriente, aims at fulfilling the scientific demands of the municipality. The meeting also gathered high government officials of the province such as Lázaro Expósito Canto and Beatriz Johnson Urrutia, among others.
