Hanoi, Jan 28 (Prensa Latina) The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) concluded today its XII Congress, described as successful by the secretary general of the organization, Nguyen Phu Trong, who was reelected in office.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the eight-days meeting, Phu Trong stated that with the spirit of unity, democracy, discipline, renovation and high responsibility to the Party, the people and the country, the Congress fulfilled all the contents planned.

The 1,510 thousand delegates to the meeting openly and democratically discussed and with high consensus approved the Political Report and that of the review of the results of the implementation of socio-economic development plan 2011-2015 as reported.

Also the orientations and tasks for the newly begun five years; Assessment Report of the leadership of the CPV Central Committee; and the balance on the implementation of Resolution of the Fourth plenary meeting of the XI term of office 'Several urgent issues on strengthening the Party's ranks today'.

Referring to the Central Committee Elected on this occasion, of 200 members, including 20 substitutes, Phu Trong asserted that for its members, that status is a great responsibility and an encouragement and honor to fulfill the tasks as a contribution to bring the country overcome the difficulties and continue development.

Besides, it called the Party, the people, the army and residents abroad to put up patriotism and confidence in their own forces to successfully fulfill the Congress resolution and open a new stage of development towards socialism.

He also appreciated the congratulatory messages (242) sent by political parties, politicians, organizations and friends from other countries to show solidarity with the CPV and the Vietnamese people.
