Moscow, Jan 28 (Prensa Latina) The Internet community in Russia increased by 5.0 percent in 2015, reaching 84 million users, as reported by the GfK market consultant.
The level of Internet access among the population over 16 years accounted for 70.4 percent last year, compared to 67.5 in 2014, according to the investigation of the Russian market.
According to GfK, the rise in the Internet segment was due to the active use of navigation on mobile supports, such as smartphones, which doubled in just one year.
Comparatively, by the end of 2015, 37.2 percent of Russia's population aged 16 connected to the Net using smartphones, while 19.2 did so through tablets.
Also, the major Internet providers increased WiFi access points, and packages of offers for mobiles (about 50 million Russians) according, to the Interfax news agency.
The segment of 16-29 years, accounts for 97 percent of Internet users.
